Helping young people navigate tech in the digital age.

Our story

DopaMind is a non-profit organization founded by two moms and one family therapist who were frustrated at the lack of content targeted at kids that explains digital wellness simply and clearly.

What is DopaMind?

DopaMind is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization working to teach kids and their caregivers, parents, and teachers about how to navigate modern technology and empower them to make brain-healthy media choices. Our turnkey programs, including school curriculum and community events, are rooted in easy-to-understand brain science and social-emotional learning and are designed to help kids understand the relationship between technology use and mental well-being. DopaMind also creates original online content for kids using award-winning children’s book illustration and for adults with expert interviews, current research, parenting tips, and more.

School Case Study

We were hosted at Children's School Nursery School in Van Nuys, California for a preschool digital wellness program. Since 1975, Children's Circle has implemented a play-based approach and philosophy that centers on attachment theory, emphasizing experiential, hands-on learning in a nurturing environment. The format of the presentation included a parent and teacher education presentation, followed by a community Q&A. Learn more about our programs here.

Program Testimonials

  • "DopaMind's live panel for Las Virgenes School District on social media & youth mental health opened a much-needed forum for our administrators, educators, and parents to connect openly on this difficult subject in a supportive and open format. We were impressed by the credentials of their contributing experts, who illustrated the latest research on this emerging issue, shared valuable insights, and offered practical strategies to support our middle and high school kids in creating a healthy relationship with technology. Thanks for the terrific and informative discussion!"

  • "I would definitely recommend the DopaMind program to other preschools. I think knowledge is power and if we can keep our parents informed, that they can then make the right choices for their families and for their children. And that’s a really valuable thing to give to parents and to our community."

Kelly Beech, Co-Director, Children’s Circle Nursery School

  • Not only professionally, but personally, I would highly recommend the DopaMind program for not only educators but also parents. It has allowed myself personally and also our school to be able to really dig deep into what is the science and how are we impacted by this and how can we use all the tools we have to support the children and support the parents in this process of figuring out the etiquette behind usage of the digital world that is around us."
